There is real science behind hypnosis, real studies that show real results and explanations that attempt to explain how it works in a rational way using what we know about the body and the brain.

However because of the ease of using hypnosis, it has become the favorite tool of many pseudo scientific approaches as well. Many people with good intentions learn hypnosis from such schools and accept the myths, (such as we only use 10% of our brain; or that the Sub Conscious records everything we experience in perfect detail); without ever having the need to look at the criticisms of such beliefs.

There is more than enough evidence of the use of Hypnosis without having to claim it has supernatural or mystical component and can fix anything. Hypnotherapy can and is a powerful approach to making changes in one's life, but it does have it's limits.
